Each year, we go out into the community to raise funds that will be used to power hundreds of critical programs and services for the people of San Antonio. We are proud to say that we raised $48 million during our 2022 Community Campaign.

That is a $1.8 million increase over 2021!

More than 350 companies and organizations supported United Way last year, with more than 75,000 total donors. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all our donors, especially our million-dollar partners: Valero, USAA, H-E-B, NuStar Energy L.P., HOLT CAT, Southwest Research Institute and Zachry Group. We are also deeply appreciative of Sunbelt Rentals, whose donation of $500,000 allowed us to hit our goal of $48 million.

2022 was a resounding success because of our amazing Campaign Chair, John B. Zachry, chief executive officer of Zachry Group. Without John’s support, leadership and advocacy, these results would not have been possible.

“We could not have had this successful year without John,” said Chris Martin, CEO of United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County. “Your support, leadership and advocacy drove us past our goal.”

John Zachry passes the torch to our 2023 Campaign Chair, Adam Hamilton. As President and CEO of Southwest Research Institute, Adam leads one of the largest independent providers of advanced scientific and applied technology solutions in the U.S.

We are also thrilled to say that we are bringing Family Resource Centers to San Antonio later this year. Touted across the country as a successful way to reduce child abuse and improve economic stability through programs that strengthen families. Programming will include parenting skills, leadership development and well-being for children. At their core, these Family Resource Centers will be a welcoming hub of services for the populations they serve.

Through our annual campaign, we act as a convener of local nonprofits, volunteers, philanthropists and corporations. By bringing everyone together, we can improve the health and human services available and have a greater collective impact.

Our work is only possible because of our generous donors, impact partners and volunteers. Because of their support, we are able to build a stable foundation of support services that will empower current and future generations to succeed.
