The United Way Eastside Family Resource Center will be the first of its kind in San Antonio. This unique center serves as a hub for support, services and opportunities for families.
It implements the National Family Support Network’s Standards of Quality Framework, including the Protective Factors framework. With a commitment to making a positive impact, United Way aims to establish similar community-based hubs throughout San Antonio and Bexar County to promote the well-being of families and create a brighter future for children and their families.
The goal of United Way Family Resource Centers (FRC) is to improve outcomes for families and function as a source of support in the community where they live. FRCs will serve as community hubs where families can find peer-to-peer support and guidance from a parent support specialist. These centers will fill a vital community need by being a space for families during times of need.
United Way is working on bringing additional FRCs to more neighborhoods across San Antonio and Bexar County. Each Family Resource Center will have a Lead Agency partner and a Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) so that each may best serve its community.
