United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County Awards Grants From the United For Kerr County Fund

  • November 19, 2025

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County has awarded funding proposals from the “United with Kerr County” fund to 10 organizations that will help residents rebuild their lives and recover long term.

The United for Kerr County fund was established to offer long-term support to individuals and families impacted by the devastating floods this past July. A request for proposals was launched in August for the $1.9 million in the “United for Kerr County” fund.

More than $4 million was requested annually across 22 applications, with $1.9 million being awarded for programs over two years, with $973,000 in funding going to the selected programs each year. Four of the organizations selected are based in Kerr County and each of them was awarded 100% of their requested amount.

The following organizations had their proposals for “United for Kerr County” funded:

  • Catholic Charities
  • Community Council of South Central
  • Endeavors
  • Hill Country CASA
  • Hill Country Christian Counseling
  • Hill Country Daily Bread
  • LiftFund
  • Project Mend
  • San Antonio Food Bank
  • TBI Warrior Foundation

“This grant is especially meaningful following our medical response in Kerrville this past July, when our team worked with local partners and volunteers to assist residents with disabilities and older adults who were affected by the floods,” said Victor L. Medina, President and Founder of the TBI Warrior Foundation. “That experience deepened our commitment to the Kerr County community and we are grateful for the opportunity to continue that work through this partnership with United Way.”

100% of all donations to the United for Kerr County fund are being used to assist the Kerr County community with immediate and long-term resources through these selected proposals. As the community recovers, it is important for the community to stay united in supporting those affected by this tragedy.
