The 2021 United Way Kids Festival, an official Fiesta event held on June 26, had all the fun activities, VIP visits, community service representatives, and most importantly, families as any previous year. The exception this year was the unique drive-through approach. Over 800 family vehicles pulled into Lincoln Park, in the heart of the city’s Eastside, to celebrate our community, our families and our children.
The caravan of participating vehicles snaked through the parking lot, receiving bags packed full of kid-friendly goodies: books, water bottles, games, toys, activity kits and many other items to engage children of all ages and promote early childhood development.
Surrounded by nonprofit partners in booths festooned with balloons, paper flowers, music and waving staff, attendees experienced a variety of free community resources, information and friendly greetings.
We extend special thanks to our Impact Partners, the Texas Cavaliers, Miss Fiesta San Antonio and Ray Feo for their support and appearances.
United Way Kids Festival was sponsored by the Texas Cavaliers and presented by United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County, the City of San Antonio, the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Dept., District 2, and others contributing time and in-kind donations.
