FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — The United Way Eastside Family Resource Center, in partnership with DePelchin Children’s Center, invites the community to its Second Annual Family Day on Saturday, June 7, 2025. This event is completely free to attend.
This free, family-focused celebration is co-designed by the Center’s Parent Advisory Committee (PAC)—a group of local parents, caregivers and grandparents who shape programming based on the real needs and experiences of Eastside families. From the activities to the resource kits, every detail reflects the PAC’s vision of a space by families, for families.
With generous support from H-E-B’s Tournament of Champions Charitable Trust, the event will distribute:
- 500 Family Food Kits
- 500 Home Essentials Kits
- 500 Backpacks with School Supplies
- 300 Family Sensory Kits
In addition to resource support, families will enjoy interactive activities including face painting, a gaming truck, bubble station, infant play area, and a special guest appearance by Arthur from PBS Kids.
Media are encouraged to attend, cover, and celebrate this powerful day of community connection and family joy. You can find footage of 250+ H-E-B employees, as part of the H-E-B tournament of champions, volunteering to build the free food, home essentials and school supplies that families will receive at the event on Saturday in our press kit.
