FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –Thanks to the generosity of USAA, United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County has partnered with the San Antonio Food Bank and Joint Base San Antonio – Lackland to host monthly food distributions for military families, with the next installment in this monthly series happening on Friday, April 17th.

Each event will be stocked with enough food for 200 households. Part of United Way’s Mission United work, this recurring food distribution will be open to all service members, veterans and their families who have base access.

Mission United helps military and veteran families overcome the unique challenges they face. This is accomplished by connecting them with community services that help them build a stronger, more resilient foundation for their future.

Military families can register to receive food this Friday, April 17th at this link.

Local media is encouraged to share this event information with their viewers to raise awareness so that as many military families as possible can be helped.  Since the event is on base, local media film crews will not be able to attend due to base requirements.
