  • May 31, 2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County has issued a Requested for Proposal (RFP) that is open to all nonprofit organizations in San Antonio and Bexar County. Organizations that provide critical health and human services that help young children, students, individuals and families reach their full potential are encouraged to apply.

Applicants selected to receive an investment award will be notified in December 2024 and will begin receiving a financial investment in July 2025 for a period of five years. The deadline to apply is August 30, 2024 at 2:00pm CDT.

“This five-year investment period gives our partners the necessary time to design and implement innovative solutions to community issues like poverty, child care, housing and education,” said Chris Martin, president and chief executive officer for United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County. “We will be more intentional with our investments in mental health services and resources that lift individuals out of poverty.”

Investments will be made in program proposals that align with United Way’s Ready Children, Successful Students and Strong Individuals and Families Impact Areas. United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County anticipates investing nearly $5 million annually in each of these three Impact Areas over the five-year cycle, which is dependent on annual community campaign results.

Nonprofits interested in applying can do so on uwsatx.org/rfp.
