FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County will launch a series of monthly food distribution events for military families this Friday on Joint Base San Antonio – Lackland. Part of United Way’s Mission United work, this recurring food distribution will be open to all service members, veterans and their families who have base access.
Occurring monthly for the next 12 months at JBSA – Lackland, each event will be stocked with enough food for 150 households, with each vehicle driving away with up to 80 pounds of food.

This is part of United Way’s Mission United work, which ensures that military and veteran families are not alone in overcoming the additional challenges they face. This is accomplished by connecting them with community services that help them build a stronger, more resilient foundation for their future.
Military families can register to receive free food this Friday at this link.
“This month’s food distribution is made possible by the generosity of the Harvey Najim Foundation, in partnership between Join Base San Antonio – Lackland, the San Antonio Food Bank and United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County.”
