Organizations Selected for Remaining $1.3 Million in “United With Uvalde” Fund

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County has awarded the second round of funding from the “United with Uvalde” fund to 11 organizations that will provide mental health support and other critical services.

This distribution represents the remaining $1.3 million contributed to the fund. In total, 100% of $1.8 million in funds raised last year has been invested in 13 organizations across two requests for proposals.

A committee comprised of volunteers, including members with experience in the Uvalde community, reviewed the submissions. Ultimately, every organization that applied in this round received funding.

Services will include customized trauma-informed care for parents, a dedicated mental health clinician supporting the students of Uvalde CISD, access to equipment designed to improve mental health for residents ages 12+, the creation of play spaces at two Uvalde schools and more.

Throughout the entire application process, United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County leaders have consulted with organizations in other communities that have experience assisting after tragedies like this.
