Get Involved

Our annual Shoebox Project is an effort to provide shoeboxes filled with everyday toiletries to be distributed to many of our nonprofit partners.

Basic comforts such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and other personal-care items are a luxury for many San Antonio children, veterans, elderly, homeless and vulnerable populations. Change a life today by participating in the Shoebox Project.

Our 2025 Impact

    Volunteers packed, assembled and distributed shoeboxes.

    Local agencies received shoeboxes filled with hygiene items for the populations they serve.

  • 4,321

    Shoeboxes were distributed to individuals in need.

  • $86,240

    in everyday essentials like body wash and more were distributed.

United Way is seeking donations of everyday essentials to provide to those in need. You can donate as an individual or host a supply drive with friends, family, your workplace or a community group.

 

ITEMS NEEDED

Adhesive bandages, baby wipes, conditioner, deodorant, hair comb/brush, hand sanitizer, lotion, shampoo, sanitary napkins/liners, soap/body wash, tampons, toothbrush, toothpaste.

 

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED

We will not accept food, medicine, mouthwash, razors, or sewing kits. We do not accept used or opened items. Travel-sized items are not accepted; full size only, please!
